Our Utility Department will be picking up leaves throughout Swayzee beginning November 1st through November 30th.
The Utility team asks the following:
The Town of Swayzee recently released its annual Water Quality Report (CCR) for 2020.
The EPA requires community water systems to deliver a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), also known as an annual drinking water quality report, to their customers each year by July 1st. These reports provide Americans with information about their local drinking water quality. Your CCR can help you make informed choices about the water you drink.
The Town of Swayzee is honoring the memory and service of our Hometown Heroes by displaying banners throughout the town. Residents may purchase a banner in honor of their hero. A hero must be a current or former resident of Swayzee or Sims Township and served/serving in the military or as a first responder such as:
Swayzee Volunteer Fire Department
Southwest Medic 5 Ambulance Services
Swayzee Police Department
Indiana State Police
Grant County Sheriff’s Department
Anyone who served/serving as a first responder but worked/works outside Swayzee or Sims Township
US Air Force
US Coast Guard
We are accepting one individual per one branch of service or department. Heroes in the military and a first responder will need to choose which service to be represented on the banner. (i.e. A veteran who is serving on the Fire Department may pick one of his services to be represented.)
The initial cost is $100.00 ($70.00 for banner and $30.00 for brackets). At this time banners may need to be replaced every other year, which would include an additional $100.00 fee.
August 1, 2021.
Our goal is to have the banners up in town for Swayzee Days on September 11, 2021.

The Town of Swayzee was awarded a $90,000 Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) grant to perform a study of our utility infrastructure which includes Water, Wastewater and Stormwater. The study will be a 20-year action plan to update/upgrade the towns utility infrastructure. As part of the study, we will look at the current demographics and outline goals for the growth of the town which will assist us in forecasting what needs to be done and when. The Town of Swayzee would like to invite you to be part of a steering committee so we can be sure we are meeting and exceeding the needs of our community. The committee will meet approximately two times per month, in the evening, with the first meeting taking place at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 3rd, in the Town Hall. This will be a Kick-Off meeting which will last approximately 1 hour. Future meetings are anticipated to last an hour and half with the schedule for future meetings being agreed to and set at each current meeting. Please feel free to reach out to Eric Woodmansee via phone: 765.623.5802 or email email@example.com with any questions.
We hope you can join us for our 13th annual Swayzee Days Festival, as we celebrate local, small-town family-friendly living! This year, we are honoring our Swayzee First Responders and their service to our community with a 5K, memorial services throughout the day, as well as a special 9/11 ceremony as we remember the 20th anniversary.
The Swayzee Volunteer Fire Department will start testing a new Severe Weather Siren System at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17th. The testing will continue every Saturday at 12:00 p.m. until further notice.
This is a great opportunity for residents and local business to show their support for the town's West Park Baseball Field by signing up for a sponsorship package! Have a question?
Thank you to all of our residents that completed the OCRA survey! As a result of your answers and the hard work of our utility team, the office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) has awarded Swayzee $90,000!
With this grant, the Town of Swayzee will be conducting a 3-utility study (wastewater, water, and stormwater) to complete an overall analysis of the systems to better determine a list of priorities for repairs and reconstruction. The Town sees the wastewater treatment plant as having the greatest need for construction given its age. However, there will also be planning for water plant upgrades/repairs as well as options for new construction of storm drains.
