RESIDENT SURVEY FOR OCRA GRANT

1/5/2021

The Town Council needs your help! We are applying for an OCRA Planning Grant to help with upgrades to Swayzee's Utility infrastructure! Please take a few minutes and complete this resident survey as our resident statistics will help us get the grant!
TAKE THE SURVEY
With an OCRA Planning Grant, the Town of Swayzee will be conducting a 3-utility study (wastewater, water, and stormwater) to complete an overall analysis of the systems to better determine a list of priorities for repairs and reconstruction. The Town sees the wastewater treatment plant as having the greatest need for construction given its age. However, there will also be planning for water plant upgrades/repairs as well as options for new construction of storm drains.

At the Town Council meeting on Monday, October 12, Rhonda Fagan was officially confirmed as a member of the Town Council Board!
Rhonda has lived around Swayzee most of her life. She grew up west of Swayzee in the little town of Sims, and is the middle daughter to Warrenie and Bonnie Rogers.  Rhonda graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1977 and went to Purdue University where she received her degree in elementary education. She moved back to the area after college, living on a farm near Amboy for ten years. In 1991, Rhonda moved back to Swayzee where she has resided since. She recently retired from Oak Hill Schools after teaching world history for 30+ years to sixth-graders at Swayzee Elementary.  Rhoda spent her entire teaching career in the same classroom where she attended sixth grade. She is happy to have reached retirement age, but missing teaching and her students. Rhonda has two children, Rebekah and Justin Bricker, who have three grandchildren and one on the way. She also has three stepsons, Mark, Ryan, and Jarod Fagan, blessing her with five step-grandchildren. Her hobbies include making quilts (especially t-shirt quilts), reading (having served on the Swayzee Public Library Board for 18 years), and traveling (Greece and Italy are her favorite destinations). Rhonda said, "I am so excited to be able to serve our community."
Please join us in welcoming Rhonda to the Town Council!
